Host and Founder
Climate One

Greg Dalton is host and founder of Climate One, the sustainability initiative of The Commonwealth Club of California. Climate One engages leaders from business, government and civil society in reason-based discussions of energy, economy and environment. Greg founded Climate One at The Commonwealth Club in 2007 after traveling to the Russian Arctic on a global warming symposium with climate scientists and journalists.

Greg created and hosts Climate One’s monthly television show carried on KRCB public TV 22 on Comcast and DirecTV. The Climate One radio program is broadcast monthly on KQED FM and weekly on KRCB (Sonoma) and KSPB (Pebble Beach). Past guests include US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, US Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar, US EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, IPCC Chair Rajendra Pachauri, Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Chevron CEO Dave O’Reilly, Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers, Ford Motor Co. Chairman Bill Ford, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune, and many other leaders.

Greg previously served for six years as The Commonwealth Club’s COO, expanding its content distribution through deals with media partners such as XM Satellite Radio, ABC 7 TV, Fora.tv and Cumulus Radio. He came to The Commonwealth Club after a career as a journalist. As International Editor at the Industry Standard magazine, he managed bureaus in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Buenos Aires, and helped establish local-language editions in ten countries. He also worked the international desk at The Associated Press, covered the early days of the Internet at InformationWeek, and wrote about China’s rise for Rupert Murdoch’s South China Morning Post as a correspondent in Beijing and Vancouver, Canada.

He holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in politics from Occidental College. Greg speaks rusty Mandarin and kitchen Cantonese.
