In North America and around the world, alliances are rolling out their own initiatives to address climate change, taking a bottom up approach and focusing on local action. Representatives from these groups will lead a discussion on their activities, what they hope to accomplish and the role of sub-national initiatives now and in the future.
Patrick Cummins is the Director of Air Quality Programs for the Western Governors’ Association. For the last five years, he has been on assignment to the Western Climate Initiative as its Project Manager. He also serves as one of the coordinators of the North America 2050 collaboration. Over the last 25 years, Patrick has worked on environmental and energy issues at the federal, state, and local level, including for the US EPA and as Deputy Director of Denver’s Regional Air Quality Council.
